About Center for Skills:
CIIMS (Christ Imperial Institute Of Management And Science), is a leader in educational innovation, the Organisation has actively contributed to the skilling, upskilling, and reskilling of both current and potential students. The Center's primary goal is in line with the changing tactics used by Indian politicians. As a prominent educational institution, CIIMS leverages its substantial expertise and resources to teach important knowledge and life skills to its students. The Center works with recognized industry specialists, like Skill Partners, NSDC, and certain Sector Skill Councils, both nationally and internationally, in order to stay relevant worldwide. In keeping with its Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR), CIIMS is dedicated to making a major contribution to India's skill development programs.
A variety of skill-based courses and programs are available from the Center for Skills at CIIMS, which works with different departments and schools within the institute to accomplish these goals. Important projects include Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) degrees that are solely focused on skill-based education, in compliance with current UGC guidelines, certifications, skill diplomas, postgraduate upskilling/reskilling courses for graduates, and skill development programs as value additions for current students.
Universities such as CIIMS are authorized by the UGC mandate to provide B.Voc. degrees through the integration of particular employment responsibilities, National Occupational Standards (NOS), and general education components. B.Voc. degrees are available at CIIMS in a number of fields, such as media and entertainment, travel and tourism, IT/ITeS, and more. These schools' graduates are qualified to work in a range of national and international companies. CIIMS works with Skill Knowledge Providers (SKPs) to implement vocational education programs for all of its skill-based programs. CIIMS chooses Skill Knowledge Providers from a variety of industries, including BFSI, ITeS, tourism, aviation, and healthcare, as part of this partnership. The general education portion of the curriculum is delivered by CIIMS, the academic partner, while Qualification Packs (QPs) and other skill-oriented training are handled by the Skill Partners.

Work Integrated Learning - Skill Programs
CIIMS in integration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and with support from its Training Facilitators, has signed an MoU to provide a Work-Integrated Skill Diploma Program. This program enrolls youngsters from rural and tribal areas of India in skill-based certificate and diploma programs with the goal of improving their employability. It provides Practical Training on the Job to give participants the tools they need to become self-sufficient and make a long-term living. The Work-Integrated Diploma Programs use a earn-and-learn methodology in multiple sectors to close the gap between academic education and real-world employment requirements, in accordance with statutory body criteria. Stipends are also provided to candidates throughout their on-the-job training, which aids in their employment in the organized sector.
Objective
The goal of the Work-Integrated Learning Skill Certificate, Skill Diploma, Advanced Skill Certificate, and Advanced Skill Diploma Programs is to empower India’s youth, especially those from backward areas, by offering them skill-based education combined with practical on-the-job training, making them financially self-sufficient.
Concept of Work-Integrated Learning Skill Education Training Program:
As "student-trainees," industrial and commercial organizations support students through this program, offering them On-the-Job Training (OJT). Each trainee receives a monthly stipend or scholarship from these organizations. The student-trainees will participate in live classes or an online Learning Management System (LMS) to get theory instruction in addition to doing Job Role-based training at the industrial location. Facilitator CIIMS is in charge of setting up these possibilities for on-the-job training with partner industries. With benefits for the trainees, NSDC, CIIMS, industry, and government, this initiative is a prime example of Industry-Institute Collaboration.

Development of Sector-Specific Skills
- No Financial Burden on Candidates or Government: - Youth have equitable access to education by benefiting from industry-specific skill development without having to pay any fees.
- Industry Exposure & Recognized Skills: - Students receive practical experience in their respective fields through On-the-Job Training (OJT), gaining skills that are acknowledged by NSDC and CIIMS.
- NSQF-Aligned Certification: - Sponsored by trade associations, certifications are in line with NSQF Levels (National Skills Qualifications Framework), guaranteeing their applicability and acknowledgment in the labor market.
- Capacity Building & Employability: - Students gain skills in problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and creative thinking in addition to their training. These skills are essential for being employable. Additionally, the OJT enables them to pay for their training and get the necessary practical skills required for Industry.
- Placement Opportunities: - Based on the students' OJT experience and their achieved skill diploma, placement opportunities are supported through job fairs and career connect events held by CIIMS and its partners.
- Entrepreneurial Support - Students with an entrepreneurial mindset can apply for Business Incubation Support, which enables them to support national programs such as Make in India, Skill India, and Digital India. Additionally, the Government of India's healthcare missions can be supported by these students.
Course Duration:
The duration of the Skill Education Courses and Online Joining Training ranges from 12 to 24 months, depending on the specific curriculum.
Beauty & Wellness – Skill Program
An agreement to develop skills in the beauty and wellness sector is signed by CIIMS and VLCC School of Beauty.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked by CIIMS (Christ Imperial Institute of Management and Science) and VLCC School of Beauty, formerly known as VLCC Institute, in a calculated move to empower women and adolescents. This collaboration aims to develop a workforce with the necessary skills for the beauty and wellness sectors by providing extensive training programs that include certification, curriculum uniformity, and industry-specific knowledge.
Goal
Give women and young people access to specialized skill training to empower them, especially in metropolitan and semi-urban regions. Encourage independence by providing hands-on training while working, which will improve your employability and means of subsistence.
Highlights of the Program
- Urge young people and women to consider careers in wellness and beauty.
- Encourage self-employment and entrepreneurship in the wellness and beauty sector.
- Acknowledge existing knowledge and provide working professionals refresher classes.
- Internships with a practical focus funded by the Placement and Entrepreneur Cell.
- Entry-level to advanced courses are offered in a variety of specializations, including spa therapy, hairdressing, makeup artistry, skin care, and more.
- The length of a course might vary from 4 weeks to 52 weeks, contingent upon the curriculum.
Curriculum for Programs in Skills
- CIIMS and the VLCC School of Beauty collaborated to establish the curriculum.
- It combines academic and practical (on-the-job training) components to guarantee that graduates have the skills necessary for employment.
- Students who successfully complete the program will get a dual diploma from VLCC School of Beauty and CIIMS.
